Everyone needs a little nitroglycerin in their sets and “The Acid” will blow a fucking hole in your head. It does what Apollo Music Group says it does on the box: bubbly 303 lines with a clip from (one would guess, it’s hard to tell from six words!) DJ Heather asking if you feel this shit. The answer is yes, yes I do.

An original is worked with some hyperactive percussion and a rubbery bass by Angel Alanis and Hiroko Yamamura from Chicago and a jacking remix from New York’s LSDXOXO. The latter should be especially prized for a kinetic energy that feels like it’s being channeled from the netherworld. I saw Richie Hawtin live in a barn in Wisconsin in 1994 for about 10 minutes before the cops pulled the plug out of an amp. Those 10 minutes, in my memory, sounded just like this shit.

Projects like this feel like they were as fun to put together as they are to play. The highest compliment you can give in this genre is to say that: this track is really fucking fun to play.
