Jovonn Releases the Mighty “The Wait” on Dogmatik

I'd call The Wait the best record Jovonn has put out in a few years but that would criminally overlook a production spree already overlooked by many.

“Wait A Minute, Stop” is that type of House Music track that makes you want to play more House Music. The long rambling voice over is like Rasheed Wallace on the basketball court, dribbling in your face and telling you exactly what he’s gonna do to you just before he does it.

An instrumental mix fills out the back end but “Give It To Me” is this record’s secret weapon – somehow pumping, grinding and sexing you up all at the same time. At a time when standardized tools and a fear of experimentation has made people increasingly sound the same, these are highly distinctive tracks that need to be in your bag.
