Fish Go Deep Release Don’t Need Me on Large Music

Veteran producers who’ve simply never missed a step in over two decades, Fish Go Deep make idiosyncratic, uncluttered deep house that satisfies the mind, body and soul. Their latest release Don’t Need Me is released on Chicago’s own Large Music and provides a masterclass in groove building, letting the simple tension between bass and drums propel the track forward constantly (and smoothly). The pair even open up their musical kimonos to give us a proper look at what’s going on underneath, with a superb, stripped down Dub Mix. Large may have become rather more prolific and somewhat less selective as a label over the last few years, but this release shows they still know how to pick a winner.
