Planet-devouring EDM borg SFX has agreed to purchase one of the Midwest’s largest independent dance music promoters.

SFX and its ageless, hairless leader, Robert F.X. Sillerman, has added Chicago-based React Presents to its portfolio; React’s Jeff Callahan added in a press release (via Jim DeRogatis at WBEZ):

After years of being independent festival/concert promoters in the Midwest, we are very exited to join the SFX family. We feel this strategic partnership with SFX Entertainment and its team of like-minded pioneers will make for a massive global company.

React handles bookings for The Mid and numerous other venues across Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin (including, until last month, Concord Music Hall) in addition to promoting the Spring Awakening Festival, North Coast Music Festival and more.

Sillerman’s SFX, with a hoard of cash from a bank loan and the company’s stock IPO last Autumn, adds React’s events to its festival roster including TomorrowWorld, Mysteryland, Electric Zoo and Disco Donnie Presents. SFX also is responsible for the 2000 daily Tech House releases that nobody buys from Beatport.

The deal also includes Clubtix.com, which handles online ticketing for React events as well as those for many other clubs, including SpyBar, and West Loop Management.
