A new House Music street festival hits Chicago on August 13, 2016 and the whole city is invited.
My House Music Festival takes place at 18th Street and Blue Island in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood and features, among others, two members of the Hot Mix 5 (headliner Farley Jackmaster Funk and Mickey Mixin Oliver), plus Stacy Kidd, Zebo, Kid Enigma, Maddjazz and more (full lineup below).
The festival is also completely 100% free. As in beer, speech and relationship advice. Moreover, 100% of the proceeds from on-site vendors will go toward three charities (Boys & Girls Club, Children’s Miracle Network & Sprouting Leaders).
According to the festival organizers:
“My House” Music Festival is a one-day music experience commemorating the origins, growth and popularity of the House Music Movement. The picturesque and diverse neighborhood of Pilsen located in the Lower West Side of Chicago, will set the scene for artisans, vendors, merchants, and music. The event will begin at 12 pm on Saturday, August 13th 2016 and will host 2 stages consisting of 20 DJ’s playing every sub-genre of house music imaginable. Our lineup with be curated by Chicago’s own Boi Jeanius, the 2015 Redbull Thre3style Chicago Regional Champion. We look forward to featuring performances by some of Chicago’s elite House Music DJ’s In addition to the wide-ranging styles of house music played throughout the day, the Festival will showcase 5 of Chicago’s top food trucks in addition to local neighborhood food vendors serving up treats the whole family will love.
