Red Party

To have a residency in Chicago that lasts a few months is a blessing. To have a residency in Chicago that lasts 2 years is a MIRACLE. Our Thursday party URBAN’S HOUSE held at Betty’s Blue Star has been going 2 years strong, with resident Rees Urban and hosted by yours truly. That night we had a red party with special guests Farley Jackmaster Funk and Lil John. What can I say? The party was beyond off the hook! Thank you to all those that came…what a night!!!

Lil Louis’ Bismarck Reunion and Urban’s House Fun

This past Thursday we had an awesome night at our Thursday residency Urban’s House at Betty’s. We had guests Carl Bias, Kevin Starke and our resident Rees Urban. All our DJs rocked it so thank you!!!

Another surprise guest at our party was the legend of all House Music legends: Lil Louis! As most of you know I interviewed him last year about the play he was working on which was based on his book “A Man’s Diary.” Not only that, but he’s got a big party (The Bismarck Reunion) at the Metro coming up…check out the personal invite from the man himself:

DJ Rush Birthday Party

Last Thursday Jan. 7th our weekly residency URBAN’S HOUSE brought back the wonderful DJ Rush to not only celebrate his birthday party (because he wanted to do it at our party :) , but also to witness an amazing 5 hour disco set by him!

Speaking of residencies, we have a new monthly party over at Betty’s every 2nd Sunday called THE SERMON with resident DJ Craig Loftis.

DJs in Drag Pictures

The party was fun fun fun, all 3 DJs giving us wildly varying looks and all with a great sense of humor. It wasn’t a packed house, but fun nonetheless.

Mr. Wonderful Punk Rock Grandma.

Uncle Milty Springtime Flower Girl.

And then of course there was also my good friend Raw Food Chris, who actually looked like he could get away with wearing that baby doll dress on a regular night.
